GETTING THERE

I've always known my life would gravitate towards art. Creative nature has always been a part of me.  But the power of parental persuasion guided me into a more practical direction, so in college I started on the career-likely path of graphic design.  After 3 dull and arduous semesters of that, my instincts took control and led me astray to fine arts.  Good move.  Turns out the art department had connections so before graduating I landed a real job designing textiles with a large company while traveling a bit - SC, GA, FL, WA.  Necessary moves.  Then somewhere between kid one and kid two, I traded the home office for an art studio and finally began concentrating on my real work obsessively.  Now I'm once again surrounded by my sounthern roots - all within the state of complete creative freedom - and trusting my gut more than ever.  Right where I plan to stay.
